Question:

To install a slide topper on a 2019 Coachmwn Freedom Ezpress 192rbs, what do you do with the factory rain gutter installed above the slide? Does it need to be removed?

Hello David,

Thanks for writing in!

When installing the etrailer RV Slide-Out Topper - 132" Wide - 4-Layer Vinyl - Black # e47QV, the factory rain gutter will usually stay in place. The awning rail is typically mounted just below the gutter, allowing both to work together. The gutter continues to direct water away from the sidewall, while the slide topper protects the top of the slide from leaves, sticks, and other debris.

The only time the rain gutter would need to be removed or relocated is if it extends down far enough to interfere with mounting the awning rail or the operation of the slide topper. As long as there is adequate clearance for the rail and the fabric to roll in and out freely, the factory rain gutter can remain in place.

Getting things geared up for the next great adventure, where are you headed to next?
