Can AC Charger Be Used With WFCO Power Center

Updated 07/29/2026 | Published 07/28/2026

Question:

WFCO Auto Detect RV Converter and AC/DC Distribution Panel - 12V - 35 Amp I recently purchased this unit to upgrade my old pop up camper electrical system. My plan was initially to install a max air vent on top but decided to go with a out equip 12v AC unit with 100amp inline fuse. My problem now is the charging system is not adequate for the 400-600ah battery I would need to run the ac unit. My question is, if I purchase an AC plug in style charger dedicated for whatever size battery I buy can I run both of them simultaneously? Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey Mike! Yes, you can run a dedicated AC-powered battery charger alongside the WFCO Auto Detect Converter # WF35AD. As long as both chargers are configured for the same battery chemistry, they'll work together without any issues. I recommend adding the Victron Blue Smart Battery Charger # VN26ZR.

This provides you with a programmable smart charging profile for both lead-acid and lithium batteries, along with Bluetooth monitoring through the VictronConnect app. The dedicated charger will help recharge your large battery bank more efficiently after running your air conditioner.

What kind of air conditioner are you running?
