Is Dexstar Trailer Wheel 20794 and 17-310-2J the Same

Question:

Hello. I am looking for 2 Dexstar rims.I need the heavy rim 20794 or 17-310-2J. Dexstar rates these rims at 4400 lbs. Different sites have different weight ratings for the same rim number. What is the difference? I will be going with a load range G tire.

Hey William, Dexstar uses two part numbers for the same wheel with the # AM20794 and the 17-310-2J both representing the same wheel which does have a 4,400 lb weight capacity. This is the capacity we have listed for this wheel and it is the correct and current capacity. It's hard to say why other sites have different info but I would assume it's probably due to outdated info.

What trailer is this going on and do you have tires picked out already?

Bill, 4400 is the correct load for those rims. I bought two of them for a 36 foot fifth wheel. They work great and have been up and down the East Coast twice. I highly recommend these rims. Brian

I have experienced the China Bomb issue, 3 times, i went with the high rated rims and tires, with 4 new rims and tires, exceeding the requirements of the manufacture for my trailer and have not been disappointed with my decision, no more blow outs 10,000 mile plus
