Recommend 40 amp MPPT Solar Charge Controller for a 400 Watt Solar Panel Setup

What type and amp size of solar controller do you recommend for 4 6 volt batteries, with 400 watts of solar. I currently have an aims 30 amp pwm and it doesnt see to be keeping up.

Hey Nathan, welcome back and thanks for the information! I recommend the Rich Solar Bravo 40 MPPT Solar Charge Controller item # RS32FR. This is a 40 amp controller, which will work great with your batteries and 400 watt setup. You're way underrated using that 30 amp one so it makes sense it can't keep up.
400 watts divided by a 12V charging voltage gives you somewhere between 28 to 33 amps of output. Your 30 amp controller is right in the middle of that so jumping up to the 40 amp Solar Charge Controller item # RS32FR will keep you from wasting power and overloading your controller.
We also have the 40 Amp Rich Solar Bravo MPPT Solar Charge Controller item # RS52FR with Bluetooth remote monitoring. It's the same controller but this one has the ability to adjust the settings and see the performance from the Rich Solar app.
