Question:
Is the Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch - 50 amps a good transfer switch I noticed it said its maximum 3750 w. I have an 8000 watt generator

Hey Barry! Yes, the Furrion Automatic Transfer Switch # F50ATS is a good transfer switch and will work with an 8,000W generator. The 3,750W figure is referring to one 120V leg (about 30 amps), not the total capacity of the switch. Since it's a 50-amp, 120/240V transfer switch, it can handle far more than 3,750 watts overall, so your 8,000W generator is well within its capabilities.
What generator are you pairing it with?

That 3750 watts information is incorrect. The unit is listed at 50A using P=IE produces the following maximum wattage (Technically VA). P = watts I = Amps E = Voltage So, 50a x 240v = 12,000 watts or 6,000 watts phase to neutral. So, this unit is perfectly suitable for a split phase generator producing up to 6Kw per leg or another way 12,000 watts.

I installed a Furrion Transfer Switch in my 1993 Holiday Rambler 'Navigator' motorhome. Was able to mount it in the same location as the original. The HR Navigator has a 10KW Kohler generator. Works great.

I bought one a year ago. Since it was the closest match to the original I had in my Country Coach and it fit right the same spot without to much effort. I also have a 12.5KW 50amp Onan Generator. It works well with it .
