Question:
I tow a ford Bronco Raptor about 5,700 lbs behind my RV. MyRV hitch is rated at 10,000 lbs. The Bronco connection sits about 8 inches higher than my RV hitch. I’m currently using the Roadmaster dual hitch receiver but have to use the high point to connect the Bronco. I’m looking for a solution where I can still add my bike rack on the RV hitch. I was looking at the Gen-Y stacked-receiver to solve this problem but the shank isn’t long enough to clear the bunkering the RV. Can I use the Roadmaster’s own straight Receiver Extension, 8-1/2”, 10,000 lb capacity with the Gen-Y to still pull the Bronco and carry my bike rack? Both pieces are rated at 10,000 lbs but I read everywhere about stacked receiver issues. It this doesn’t work do you know of any other solution that would give me the option to still mount a bioreactor higher than the Bronco connection height? Thanks,

Hey Marc, this is a tough situation to be in as you need the higher hitch opening to use your tow bar level and you also want to carry a bike rack above that. So the simplest solution would be if you could use the ladder at the rear of the motorhome to carry a bike rack like with the Surco 2 Bike Carrier part # SP501BR. You'd be limited to two bikes and they couldn't be super heavy. Would this possibly work?
Hopefully that works as you may have noticed that if you started stacking hitch adapters you end up cutting hitch capacity and while some get away with that it can get sketchy. Ideally you could use the Gen-Y Stacked hitch ball mount part # 325-GH-526 without a hitch extender but this has 5-5/8 inches from the further hitch pin hole to back of upright portion of the adapter. What kind of bikes are you transporting?

I carry two Lenovo e-bikes, each weighing about 65 lbs. I don’t want to hoist that up on a ladder.
