Question:
I have a 2026 Ford F350 with a 8foot bed and a 5th wheel. I am wanting to add a retractable tonneau cover and also a 40gallon auxiliary fuel tank with a Trax auto transfer diesel tank. But i am unsure of the space the Cover take up and the max height of the tank.

Thanks for reaching out Gary,
The RetraxPRO XR # RTT-80384 is a great choice for your 2026 Ford F-350 and it can be used with a 5th wheel hitch. The main thing to consider is the canister at the front of the bed.
The canister measures 13-1/2" deep × 12" tall. More specifically, it extends about 11-5/8" below the top of the bed rails and is approximately 13-3/4" wide.
To figure out if a 40 gallon Trax transfer tank will fit, you'll want to compare the tank's:
Overall height to ensure it clears the underside of the tonneau cover
Front to back depth to ensure it clears the canister
Are you planning to leave the tank installed year round or only when towing?
