Updated 04/13/2026 | Published 04/05/2026

Question:

Looking for offset ball for 25 F350 short bed. Having the Curt Helux gooseneck installed onto the camper this week and what would be the best offset ball for that combo??

Hey Matt. If your 2025 Ford F-350 has the factory puck system, I recommend the Gen-Y item # GY43XR. This offset adapter is going to drop down into your gooseneck hole and front pucks and push the gooseneck ball back 5" towards your truck's tailgate. It has a 25,000 lbs capacity and includes built in safety chain loops. It is compatible with the Curt Helux gooseneck pin boxes.

Does your F-350 have the factory puck system? If not I'll need to know what specific gooseneck hitch your truck has.

@Matt The GenY offset ball is the one you need. I have had one in my 20 F350 6.5ft bed for 3 years and it works great. Easy in and out so you still have your whole bed when not towing.

I have a 2017 F250 diesel extended cab 6 ft box. The offset ball works great, gives you that extra 5” space from the tailgate to the camper. Easy install straight into the factory puck and ball.

@Matt Matt Gen Y makes two different 5” offsets the newer of the two use your back 3 pucks and has the built in chain hooks. This is the one you want! But keep in mind that even with a 5” offsets you can still slap the cab. The goose neck set up is a better ride for me .

Have the gen-y installed on my F-250 and it works great. Can almost make a 90 degree turn.

I have a 2024 F-350 with the offset ball. I have had no major problems however I fell the new design, utilizing the rear pucks, will be even better. Good luck, happy towing.
