Question:
i need a trailer hitch for a truck bed extender so that i can carry a ladder on the roof of my tiny 2005 kia rio. the truck bed extender requires a 2 in port or receiver. searches for trailer hitches for my vehicle always display hitches with 1 1/4 in receiver therefore i need an adapter that would allow my 1 1/4 in trailer receiver to carry a 2 in mount truck bed extender any recomendations

You would need adapter # HTAD since all of the trailer hitches for the 2005 Kia Rio are Class I trailer hitches. The use of an adapter or extender reduces the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent.
So if you installed a trailer hitch with a 200 pound tongue weight but then used the adapter, the 200 pound capacity would be reduced to 100 pounds. The combined weight of the load extender and anything on it would have to be less than 100 pounds.
