The first thing to check would be the Tahoe to make sure it is sending the signal when it should be. Use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, to check each pin on the connector on the Tahoe. The exposed pin will be the ground, so connect the clip on the tester to it. The pinhole farthest from the ground should be the right-side blinker and stop. If it comes on when you hit the brake and turn on the right blinker, then the problem is on the trailer. If it does not come on, then there is something wrong with the vehicle wiring and you will have to check for broken, nicked or frayed wires for the trailer connector.
On the trailer, check the ground connection for the light. Make sure the grounds for the light have direct contact to metal and are not inhibited by paint or corrosion. If the problem is not with the grounds, then the light is simply not receiving the signal.
Finally, trace the green wire from the back of the right light up the length of the trailer. Check for nicks, frays or breaks in the wire. Follow the wire all the way up to the trailer connector.
