Ways To Add A Snow Plow To A 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation With TurboMax Engine

Updated 07/27/2026 | Published 07/18/2026

Question:

Hi, I have a 2026 Sierra Elevation 4x4 Turbomax model TK 10753 that Im considering using a small snow plow. Im concerned about ground clearance on a front receiver hitch. Its a lease so Im looking for a bolt on. How much ground clearance is there on the part C22NR?

Hi Mike!

I may have an option for you, but the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # C22NR will not fit the Elevation models or the TurboMax engine. This is due to the trim and when I talked to a guy that tried to install it on a 2025 Elevation anyway, it was only about 5" off the ground. I'm sorry to say that there does not look to be an option for a front hitch that will fit your truck.

The only way I found to get a snow plow onto the front of your truck will be to use something like the Custom Mounting Brackets for Detail K2 Snowplows # K244FR (you will also need the get the Extended Cross-Member for DK2 Snow Plow # K273FR). From there, you can get one of the following plows:

Detail K2 Rampage II Snowplow - 82" Wide x 19" Tall # K2RAMP8219 (Electric Actuator # K2RAMP8219ELT)
Detail K2 Storm II Snowplow - 84" Wide x 22" Tall # K2STOR8422 (Electric Actuator # K2STOR8422ELT)
Detail K2 Summit II Snowplow - 88" Wide x 26" Tall # K2SUMM8826 (Electric Actuator # K2SUMM8826ELT)

These are all very nice plows and the electric actuator models (the ones in parenthesis) are super easy to use and live with. The only thing is, I don't know if there will any trimming of the air dam to get the custom fit brackets installed or not. I am pretty sure it installs under it, but we don't have any instructions now have we had anyone install this part on an Elevation model as of yet. You would be taking a chance with it.

However, you could also mount the Agri-Cover SnowSport 180 Snowplow for 2" Hitches - 82" Wide Blade # SS78GV in the rear hitch. It's one of the only models rated for a rear hitch and it would solve all the issues with the front not being able to have a hitch or possibly needing to trim things to get custom brackets to fit. The only thing you would need to double check for this one is the bottom of 2" receiver tube must be 8" to 16" from the ground. If it is, then this might be your best option.

Where are you wanting to plow? Is it like a driveway or more of a commercial kind of thing?

Hi Lazer - Thank you for the detailed response. I would be plowing 2 or 3 of the family driveways and clearing our 2 parking spots at our condo as the company does a crappy job. So nothing too intense. I was considering the SnowSport 180 as it looks like one that I could handle by myself as I'm getting older. I'm planning on winter storage of the blade in the truck bed when not in use. I also looked at the Plowser folding blade but with little weight difference I discounted that because I didn't think it would be durable enough. What is required to assemble the SnowSport? What tools would be required? I live in Clarkston, Michigan, do you have someone that could assemble it if is too much for me?

@Mike The Plowser is a very cool idea and wouldn't be a bad option if you were just doing your own driveway, but in your case, I would also question its durability in the long run. I think the SnowSport 180 will be the better option. As to putting it together, it's pretty straightforward. I have the list of needed tools below: Drill with 5/16” bit 9/16” socket w/ ratchet 3/4” box wrench (2) 7/16” wrench (1) Allen wrench 3/16” The instructions are very clear and easy to follow, but if you do end up needing help with it, you can click the included link and it will take you to installers in your area (you will need to update the zip code).

@LazerS Hope you had a great weekend! I'm settled on the SnowSport 180, any chance that a swivel 30604 might work on the back? Thanks, Mike

@Mike To my knowledge, the Hitch Mount - 3 Point Angle Interceptor # 30604 will only fit the HD SnowSport plows. Since the SnowSport 180 attaches to the shank differently, it won't be compatible without some serious modifications, unfortunately.
