Need Wider Cradles for Hollywood Racks Bike Rack to Accommodate my New Mountain Bike
Updated 07/21/2014 | Published 07/19/2014 >
Question:
Hello: My new mountain bike has a frame that is wider than the cradles on my Hollywood bike rack. All of the cradles I have found are made for the skinnier tubes on the typical road bike, including part #HR750-P. Do you have any suggestions?

I spoke with my contact at Hollywood Racks and he said that there will be some surgery required to get your current bike rack cradles to accept the wider frame on your new mountain bike.
Hollywood Racks does not manufacture a wider cradle but said that you can cut your current cradles in half and just spread them apart to accommodate the wider frame on your new mountain bike. You shouldn't have any problem with the rubber straps, they will be long enough to fit the new set-up.
