Question:

We have a 2019 Grand design reflection 29RS 5th wheel. to the best of my knowledge it has a Lippert pin box. Item 722703, serial number S002223679. The previous owner pulled it with a sliding hitch. we have removed the capture plate for the sliding hitch. We purchased from etrailer a BandW Patriot 18k fixed hitch with rails for our 2022 ram 3500 long bed. Since we have removed the previous capture plate do we need to add a different one for our hitch?

Hey Julie! The B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BW76XR you ordered from us does not require a capture plate. You can use this hitch with the pin box in its original configuration now that you have removed that old capture plate.

The only other thing you may want to add to the 5th wheel hitch is a lube plate like # 16721. I would also add the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness # C56070 if you don't already have a connection in your truck.

Where are you headed first once you get everything set up?
