Redarc Tow Pro Liberty Brake Controller not Lighting Up

Question:

I bought the red Arc brake controller. Followed instructions and watched videos. Got everything put together. It worked to start for a few seconds then shut off. I tore it apart checked connections but I am still getting nothing out of it. No lights.

Are you testing the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness - Dash Knob - Up to 2 Axles - Proportional # RED87CR with a trailer connected?

If not, this is what we would expect to see. This brake controller will not illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed unless it detects that a trailer is plugged into the vehicle.

The lights you saw during the initial installation were most likely part of the controller's startup and calibration process before it determined that no trailer was connected. You can also press the manual override button to verify that the controller has power, but without a trailer connected, there isn't a reliable way to fully test the system.

Out of curiosity, what type of trailer did you purchase the brake controller for?

I bought the Redtrac for the ram 2017 put the knob in the dash there is no light oni checked everything like you did you need to hook it up to a trailer you plug it in and it will light up I hooked up to a dump trailer plugged it in it lights up hit the brakes brakes on the trailer apply I never pulled a trailer as just after putting it in a big buck came out the ditch toalted the truck out trying to sell on marketplace as it was past the 30 day return
