Roof Rack Recommendation for 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid with Flush Roof Rails

Question:

I am looking to purchase a roof rack system for my 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. It currently has rails that are flush to the roof and I am unsure what products I would need to attach a system to the car. Would I need additional footing mounting equipment? Is it possible to get a list of what would be required to be compatible with most off the shelf roof rack systems or would it vary by brand?

Hey Maisie, for your 2021 Toyota RAV4 hybrid that has flush roof rails we have complete kit roof racks available like the Yakima Jetstream roof rack part # Y29TB which comes with everything needed to install. Generally the brands all use unique components so you can't use the feet of one brand with the bars of another so it makes the most sense to get a complete system so you know you will get everything you'd need. What are you planning on carrying on the roof of your vehicle?

Thanks James - this looks very good and I am looking for something that has less wind resistance. I am mainly interested in using a cargo box. I have had square bars on previous cars, so I am wondering if you have a video that shows how you mount your items to the these style of bars? Thanks much - Mary

@MaisieH the most aerodynamic setup would be a flush bar where the bar does not extend past the feet of the rack like the Thule Wingbar part # TH53FG which would also work with a roof cargo box. I did attach a link to an install video for you to check out as well.
