Question:
Ive got a 2023 Keystone Cougar 364BHL. I believe Ive narrowed it down to the C85MJ as having the correct specs for my trailer but there are a lot of options. Do you agree that this would be the correct one?

Hi Doug, great question!
I'd be happy to help. Based on the information I've been able to find, many 2023 Keystone Cougar 364BHL fifth wheels came equipped with a Lippert 1621 pin box. If your trailer does have a Lippert 1621, then the Curt Helux # C85MJ would not be the correct fit because it is designed specifically for trailers equipped with a Lippert Rhino pin box.
Before ruling it out completely, I would still recommend checking the sticker on your current pin box to confirm the model. Keystone has used different pin boxes over the years, and the sticker is the best way to verify exactly what is on your trailer. A quick photo of that sticker would let me confirm the fitment with confidence.
If your pin box does turn out to be a Lippert 1621, we currently do not carry a Curt Helux that fits that bolt pattern. In that case, I would take a serious look at the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel Pin Box # GY68GR. It is designed to fit the Lippert 1621 and 1621HD bolt pattern and uses a torsion-flex design to absorb road shock, chucking, and vibration. It has become a very popular upgrade for customers looking for a smoother towing experience and less stress on both the truck and trailer over rough roads and bridge transitions.
Where do you do most of your towing with the Cougar, long highway trips, mountain routes, or mostly local campground runs?

Thanks Heather. My current pin box doesn't look like a1621. It's a It appears to be a Curt "RotaFlex" re-branded as a Lippert "Road Armor". Looks identical to a Curt RotaFlex but the decal says "Lippert Road Armor by Trailair" From the images I see the bolt pattern appears to be the same as the Helux. Two rows of verticle bolts. Three at the front two at the back.
