Replacement Rear Backup Camera for a Voyager VBCS150 Camera

Updated 06/11/2026 | Published 06/08/2026

Question:

Hello- Ive got an old Voyager vom-78 back up camera with the vbcs150 camera. What back up monitoring will be compatible with my existing cabling as far as the cable ends? Not worried about the electrical wiring as thats easily spliceable. Thanks

Thanks for the information William. The Voyager Rear Camera with LED Low Light Assist item # VCMS17B would be an upgraded replacement for your Voyager VBCS150 camera. It uses the same connectors but a different mounting bracket. You'll need to use the bracket included with the item # VCMS17B.

The Voyager Rear Camera item # VCMS17B it has 12 Infrared LEDs and a low light assist function that really helps you see at night.

The Voyager RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision item # VGR97VR is what I would recommend to replace your monitor and camera. It includes the item # VCMS17B camera, new 7" monitor, and new wiring. The kit is way less expensive than buying the parts individually if you're wanting a new monitor as well.

Additionally, the Voyager System item # VGR97VR can also be expanded to add side cameras with the Driver's Side item # VCMS12LGPR and the Passenger's Side item # VCMS12RGPR.

Are you looking to upgrade your entire system or just replace the rear camera?

Thanks Jerred, that's the info I need to be sure my old cabling will still work. I need to replace the whole systerm as the monitor has quit and there's no sense in not upgrading to color with a new camera. Thanks, Bill

@JerredH Hi again Jerred. Not sure if you saw my last reply but the recommended back up camera vgr97vr appears to have different connections than my old vom -78. My old connections are 4 pin while the newer model connections are 12 pin. Is there any kind of adapters available? Thanks, Bill

@WilliamG Hey Bill! I do see your other comment. I just missed it at the end of the day Tuesday and was at the pool yesterday. If your VOM -78 is the VOM-783CT, Voyager use to offer the 31100041 CRT 5-pin to LCD 4-pin adapter. That's the only adapter that we've had for this setup.

In looking at the pin connectors mine are 4 pin. The one into the camera is a round 4 pin and the one into the back of the monitor is a square 4 pin. It looks like the vgr97vr recommended is a round 12 pin. Are there adapters available? Bill
