Updated 06/04/2026 | Published 05/30/2026

Question:

I’m in need of a replacement slide motor. It is for a 2002 keystone cougar 5th wheel. Do you all have any replacement parts for that? Thank you.

I'd be happy to help with that Casey!

Your 2002 Keystone Cougar most likely has either a Power Gear or Lippert slide-out system, and both manufacturers used several different motors over the years. Because of that, I can't identify the correct replacement motor based on the trailer year and model alone.

If you can send me a photo of the slide motor, the identification tag on the motor, or any labels on the slide mechanism, I can help determine exactly which system you have and point you to the correct replacement motor. A picture of the underside of the slide can be helpful too.

For reference, the photo below is an example of a Power Gear slide-out motor. You can see the Power Gear branding on the motor housing along with part numbers like 13-1084 and 52008.

Once we identify whether it's a Power Gear or Lippert setup and get the motor part number, we can narrow it down quickly and make sure you get the right replacement the first time. Out of curiosity, what makes you think the motor needs to be replaced? Is the slide not moving at all, moving slowly, making grinding noises, or something else? Knowing the symptoms may help us determine whether the motor is actually the issue or if another component in the slide system is causing the problem
