Question:

I have a 2015 ford f350 diesel 4x4 long box SRW. I have an Arctic Fox 865. I was wondering should I do ride rite with wireless compressor or use torklift stable load? IF stable load does it hurt the springs metal on metal? i will be towing a boat with tongue weight of 500lb on occasion, maybe 3 times a year.

I'd recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2597 for the adjustability they provide. With the weight of the Arctic Fox 865 and the occasional boat trailer, you can adjust the air pressure to match your load and keep the truck level.

StableLoads # TLA7310S are a great option but they're a fixed solution, so they tend to work the best with consistent loads.

Metal on metal contact is normal, the StableLoads will not hurt the springs. Your F-350's upper overload spring is designed to contact the factory overload pads when heavily loaded. StableLoads simply eliminate the gap so the overload engages sooner. The spring pack is already engineered for that contact under load.

The Ride-Rite system lets you add support when the camper is loaded and towing, then reduce the pressure when you don't need it. This flexibility is why I think the Firestone kit is the better fit for your setup.

Do you leave the camper on most of the time, or is it something you load up just for trips?

I will only put camper on a few times each year. Let say less than ten times per year. And only for 3 days at most each time.

@WendallS thanks for updating me, for your situation I'd still lean towards the Ride-Rite system for the adjustability whether your towing or not.

I have had these for years and absolutely would not hesitate to put them on anything. I first had them on my 2003 F250 and towed a fully loaded race trailer (about 10Klbs) without any issue. Also used it for towing a 38 foot 5th wheel trailer. Liked them so much I put them on my 2011 F350 pulling a 34' race trailer. The ride is excellent with these installed. I have them at about 45lbs with my setup which puts the helper springs about 1.5" away from engaging. Would highly recommend for load balancing on the tongue as well as smoothing out the ride. Install was really pretty easy as well and instructions are good. again, highly recommend!!
