Replacement RV AC Unit Recommendation for 1997 Holiday Rambler Endeavor

Updated 06/01/2026 | Published 05/21/2026

Question:

I'm the "#?" Owner of a 1997 Holiday Rambler Endeavor. I've been replacing/upgrading quite a bit on this rig. One of my rooftop AC units just gave out on me. I'm sure they're the original units. This rig is 36' I believe. The current units are, from what I've assessed, Dometic Brisk Air. I would like to find two replacements, all the needed hardware and new distribution boxes that I can basically drop in and not make any modifications structurally or wiring wise. I also replaced the thermostat with a micro air smart thermostat I'd like to work with that. From what I've read the Furrion Chill HE is the way to go. I'd like expert advice on if that's true and every extra hardware that is needed for this project. I hope you guys have some guru's in this regard. Thanks

Hey Randy, yes the Furrion Chill HE like the part # FR23TD that you referenced will work with the Micro Air thermostat that you have so this would be a great option for you. This kit also includes all of the needed hardware to install in your Holiday Rambler Endeavor as well. These will be a lot quieter and efficient than what you have now too. How did you like the Dometics?

Hello Jameson, thank you for your reply. The Dometic units worked ok enough. I don't think they're quite up to snuff to completely cool the trailer as I would like, but that's not surprising given their old age. Yes, they're quite loud as well. I will look into ordering the replacements after I come back from vacation. Shipping wise, I feel like i read that these would have to be shipped freight and be delivered via a large truck. If this is the case I will not be able to have them shipped to my house, but I can easily ship them to my work which has loading docks and everything. Would you be able to confirm if this is the case for the shipping so I know if I need to set that up.
