Can I Add A LED Puck Lights In Enclosed Trailer Where They Have Their Own On/Off Switch Built In?

Question:

I’m adding a couple lights inside my enclosed trailer and want each one to turn on individually. Would these work even though it’s not technically an RV?

Yes Mike, these can work well in an enclosed trailer as long as you’re powering them from a 12V DC source. The RV Designer # RD94SR is a surface-mount interior light, so it isn’t limited to motorhomes or campers only.

The built-in push button is the main benefit here. You can feed multiple lights from the same 12V circuit, but each light can still be turned on or off at the fixture instead of having every light come on together from one switch.

Just make sure you have a flat mounting spot and a safe way to route the wiring behind or through the panel. What do you use the trailer for most, Mike - hauling gear, working out of it, or camping? That’ll help decide where the lights make the most sense.
