Question:

I need a light under the cabinet in my camper kitchen. Would this be too bright or too yellow for that kind of spot?

Hi Amanda! For an under-cabinet or galley-area light, the RV Designer # RD94SR should work well if you have room for the 4-1/2" diameter housing. It has a frosted lens to help diffuse the light, and the 180-degree beam angle gives you wide light coverage instead of a narrow spotlight effect.

The color is listed at 3,200K, which is warm white. That means it should feel softer than a harsh cool-white LED, but at 396 lumens, it is still fairly bright for everyday tasks like making coffee, prepping food, or lighting up the counter area.

If this is going in a smaller cabinet space, just keep in mind that the # RD94SR does put out a good amount of light. You might also consider the Optronics 12V LED RV Dome Light # RVILL33, which is another compact 12V option for small interior spaces.

Amanda, how much space do you have under that cabinet from front to back? That’ll help make sure these options won’t feel oversized there.
