Question:

I’ve got an older motorhome and some of the ceiling lights are 12V halogen puck lights. Can I replace one with this LED puck light to reduce heat and power draw?

Yes Stan, if the size and mounting style work for your motorhome, the RV Designer # RD94SR would be a nice upgrade from an older 12V halogen-style puck light. This is an LED light, so it is more efficient and uses 4.5 watts while still putting out 396 lumens. This would likely pull less than half the power compared to halogen bulbs.

The part I’d double-check is the mounting. This is a surface-mount puck light, so it is best for replacing lights that mount to the surface of the ceiling or cabinet, not lights that sit down inside a recessed can opening. It also has a 4-1/2" diameter, so you’ll want to make sure it covers the footprint of the old fixture.

If you can get some more info, I'm happy to dig deeper for you to make sure this is the best fit!
