Question:
Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - eZ-Latch - Zinc - 2 Ball - Bolt On - 7,000 lbs Part Number: DM15945 I have a Bronco with a spare tire on the tailgate. My trailer has the traditional 2 in ball trailer coupler. The latch hits the spare tire before it fully opens or closes. I was needing the height of the black latch on the Demco when it’s flipped open to see if it will clear my spare tire.

Hey Josh! The height of the latch on the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - eZ-Latch # DM15945 is 4-3/4" when it is flipped open. If you still aren't able to operate a coupler latch because of the spare I recommend getting an extended ball mount that matches the rise/drop you need for the trailer.

My Demco coupler #15945 measured 7-1/4" from the bottom of the coupler, to the top of the latch when it's open. From the top of the coupler, I measured 4-1/4" to the top of the latch.
