Is There a Way to Get Stoplight Circuit on Vehicle that Doesn't have Switch Wire at Brake Pedal

Question:

My 2026 Ford Ranger Lariat does not have a brake light switch under the dash. How do you install a brake lite relay?

Hey Richard, for vehicles that don't have a stoplight circuit at the brake pedal the easiest way to get one is to use a universal stoplight switch like the part # RM-751000. Are you installing a brake controller in your Ranger?

Hi Richard I used the universal stoplight switch that Jameson referenced in conjunction with Roadmaster 9530 Wireless Universal Supplemental Braking System Monitor. I used this for monitoring the status of the brakes while towing. I decided to go with the wireless brake light system for the actual lights. Of course you could just wire your lights using the universal light switch. Install was pretty easy. Typical running power wires and such.

Richard, the universe brake light kit is very simple to install and solved the issue I had. Since I disconnect my battery while towing my truck the indicator light on the das of the M/H would not work since thete was no power in the truck. The kit took about an hour to install and solved my problem, I do recommend the kit. If you have and additional questions please advise. Larry
