Can I Replace Puck Light Over Bed In Camper With Its Own Switch Instead Of Wall Switch?
Published 05/19/2026 >
Question:
Can I use this to replace a puck light over the bed in my camper if I want to be able to shut just that one light off? Right now all the ceiling lights come on together from the wall switch.

Yes Melissa, that’s one of the main reasons I like this style of puck light. The RV Designer # RD94SR has its own built-in push button on/off switch, so as long as the wall switch is feeding 12v dc power to that lighting circuit, you can shut this individual puck light off right at the fixture.
That’s handy over a bed, dinette, bunk area, or anywhere you don’t always want every light in the circuit on at once. Just keep in mind that if the wall switch is off, the light won’t have power at all. The push button gives you individual control only when the circuit itself is energized of course.
Melissa, are you replacing one light over the bed or planning to swap several in that same ceiling circuit?
