Question:
Hello, I have a 2019 Chevy express 3500 extended that I use as a work van/motovan/camper van. My build out is only about 500 pounds of extra weight in the van. When I’m loaded up for a full camping trip, it’s about 1500 pounds of weight, distributed daily evenly. I struggle with the van riding rough, these vans are notorious for sitting on the overloads. Even without all my stuff, my springs are pretty flat, and my springs are brand new too. I’ve towed really heavy trailers before as well, and it doesn’t really sag much, even though it should. Lots of people recommended your air bag kit for these vans. And I like the adjustability. I do go off-roading a lot to get to campsites, so being able to get the rear end nice and high to use all the suspension seems beneficial. The only caveat is I have a 3” lift in the van 2.5” block on the rear. Would your air bags still work with that? I can reduce the blocks down to 2”, but I went higher because the van wasn’t sitting level. In total, I have about 6.5” from the top of my axle to the bottom of my frame where the bump stop is located. Thanks for your time! Jake

Hey Jake, welcome back! Yes, you can use the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL88205 on your van. I do recommend this version with the internal jounce bumpers for extra support. Since you have a lift, you will need the 2" spacer kit # AL52420 to make up the difference. I also recommend adding an air compressor like # AL25980EZ so you can adjust the air bags from the cab wherever you go.
Where do you typically go camping?

Thanks, I’ll look into all of that. I’m from Michigan, but I travel out west (Colorado, Utah, Arizona, etc) about 5-6 times a year to go ride. Never did I think I’d be taking my van up some of the roads I have.
