Question:
Hello, I have a 2018 Crossroads Zinger single axle travel trailer. The model number is 18RD and the axle is 3500 underslung. I am interested in a set of sumosprings, maybe part number TSS-106-40. My frame is offset from the leaf springs so Id need the TSS-CTP contact plate. MY question is, when i measure the distance from the top of the leaf spring to the bottom of the frame rail its only 5.5 inches. From what I can tell this dimension is too small for the sumospring to fit. Is that correct? Thank you for your time! Mark

Hey Mark! That is correct, the 5-1/2" measurement is not enough to install the SumoSprings # TSS-106-40. I have discussed this with the manufacturer before, and according to SuperSprings there is no wiggle room with that measurement. I would consider adding a shock kit as an alternative.
The Roadmaster Comfort Ride # RM-2450-50 is a great option here. This is listed as an add-on for triple axle setups, but it works for an underslung single axle trailer like yours as well. This is specifically designed for 3,500 lb axles with a 2-3/8" diameter like you have on your trailer.
The offset frame is not an issue with the Roadmaster setup like it is with the SumoSprings since the upper shock brackets can be positioned on the frame during installation. You just want to make sure there is enough open space on the frame rail for the upper brackets and that there are no plumbing lines or wiring in the way.
Where are you headed next once you get the shocks installed?
