Welcome back Gary. On the Curt Hitch item # 14070, the top of the mounting bracket to the top of the inside of the 2" receiver is 8". This hitch is designed to fit the 2017 Ram 5500 that has a frame measuring 34" wide from the outside to the outside of the frame rails.
The Curt item # 14070 is a class IV rated hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 10,000 lbs towing capacity and a 1,000 lbs maximum tongue weight. All the hardware you'll need for installation will be included.
What do you plan on towing with your new hitch and how far apart are your Ram's frame rails?
