Hi Bill!

The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 523126-1 will indeed fit the original Chevy SSR. It will actually fit a 2003 to 2006 Chevrolet SSR, so you are good to go with your 2005. Just bear in mind this will require your tow bar to be a "crossbar" style.

If you don't have that, you will need something like the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plates - RV Mount - 10,500 lbs # e64ZR for a full tow bar or the Quick Disconnect Crossbar Assembly for Roadmaster Tow Bars # 910021-00 if you already have a Roadmaster tow bar that doesn't use the crossbar.

On that note, do you have all the other parts needed to get your SSR set up for flat towing (braking system, wiring)? And what are you going to be towing it with?
