Hey David, thanks for reaching out, and good question. The difference between those two isn’t the platform itself, it’s how the rack is designed to sit on the truck and how it works with things like your sunroof.

Both # FR58FV (KRDR010T) and # FR38FV (KRDR011T) are Slimline II racks for the same Ram crew cab, same tray size, same general build. The big difference is the mounting setup and height profile. The # FR38FV is the low-profile version, which sits closer to the roof using foot rails. It looks cleaner and keeps height down, but it limits things like opening a sunroof in vent mode and can interfere with certain accessories.

The # FR58FV is the slightly taller configuration, which gives you a little more clearance between the rack and the roof. That extra space is what allows things like a sunroof to function better and gives you more flexibility for mounting gear that hangs down underneath the rack.

So real-world, you’re choosing between a lower, cleaner look (KRDR011T) versus a more functional setup with extra clearance (KRDR010T). Same rack up top, just a different stance and how it interacts with the truck.

What will you be carrying on the platform?
