Will A 1" Lift Require Spacers For Air Bag Installation?

Updated 04/16/2026 | Published 04/10/2026

Question:

I have a 1 inch spacer lift on the rear of my 23 tundra and looking to purchase air lift loader 5000. Is a spacer required along with this air bag or will the standard one work?

Hi Daryl!

Having a 1" lift on your 2023 Toyota Tundra will not affect the installation or operation of the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers - Rear Axle # AL24JQ in any way. Once you start getting to 2" and over, you will need to look into getting spacers.

I do also recommend the # AL24JQ over the other options. This has an internal jounce, which means you can run these at 0 psi. That's a nice thing as, when you are not loaded up, there will be no affect on your unloaded ride. That is a huge plus in my book and the reason they have become my go to when available.

On that note, what are you going to be towing?

Spacers don’t change this spring height that the model specific airbag application. If lifted with taller spring, the you’d need a taller airbag. You should be fine with standard height spring and spacer.
