Can the Blu Technology AR3 Elite Portable RV Water Filter and Softener w/ Connections - 3 Stage - 0.2 Micron be used in a off grid application. Like from a stream or lake.

Hello Jess, good question. You can use the Blu Technology AR3 # GB59FR in an off-grid setup, but it’s not really designed to pull straight from a lake or stream on its own. It needs pressurized water to work properly, so you’d have to run a pump ahead of it to push water through the system.

The bigger thing to keep in mind is this unit is built more for treated or relatively clean water, like campground hookups. If you’re pulling from a natural source, you’ll want some kind of pre-filter to catch sediment, sand, and debris before it hits the AR3, otherwise you’ll clog it up pretty quickly.
