Good morning I have a Airstream Basecamp, without an inverter. I would like to install a Inverter only And wire it to my microwave circuit removing that circuit from shore power I realize it will then be powered only by the inverter. My microwave is 9.8 amps. What inverter do you recommend for this, and do you have a wiring schematic for such a project?

Welcome back Randy and thanks for the information! I recommend the Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter item # 34279950. It's rated for up to 1,500 watts and has two GFCI AC outlets that you can just plug your microwave into and not have to rewire the entire circuit. A microwave that pulls 9.8 amps is going to use around 1,200 watts so the extra capacity will ensure you don't damage anything. Plus you'll have the option to use one of the plugs for a TV, laptop, or cell phone charger.

If you're set on rewiring that dedicated microwave circuit, you'll want the Go Power item # 34279458.

Both the Go Power item # 34279950 and item # 34279458 are sine wave inverters that are going to provide clean power for your microwave. Using a standard inverter not designed for sensitive electronics is going to cause your microwave to overheat.

I have linked the installation instructions below for both inverters. They've got a couple of wiring schematics inside that will help you get it setup.
