Hi Sherrill!

The Advent Air 13.5k RV Air Conditioner # ADV96SR have a decibel rating of 76, so roughly the sound of a fairly loud vacuum cleaner.

One thing to also be aware of, this is only the roof top unit and it does not include the other components to get it working. Unless your current AC system was made in 2025 or later, that is. Anything prior to 2025 used a different coolant (R410a) and those components will not work with the new stuff. So with that said, if you do have one of the older set ups. you will need a full replacement. I have two options for that below:

Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 13,500 Btu - White - R32 # ADV95SR
Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Manual - 13,500 Btu - White - R32 # ADV23SR

Both of these kits use the same # ADV96SR rooftop unit, but include the other parts to replace everything. The difference between them is the # ADV95SR has a wall mounted thermostat and the # ADV23SR has the controls on the air distribution box.

What are you wanting to add this on to? Are you getting ready for an upcoming trip?

I’m looking into replacing the whole unit maybe. Noise level is a big factor for me. It’s going on a small 17 foot travel trailer from the 70’s. Is there another inexpensive unit that is quieter?

@SherrillR Oh cool! If you are open to it, I would sure like to see a couple pictures of what you have. I very much prefer the old school stuff over this new overly technological stuff they are making these days. As to the quietest, that would be the Furrion Chill Cube Ductless # FR27TD or Ducted # FR49TD). These are full kits that are 18,000 btu rated and have a decibel rating of 47 to 57. They are super nice and efficient, but they are not what most people would call inexpensive. Still, I figured I would mention them. For the units that are actually inexpensive, the Advent options I mentioned above are the quietest. I did say a fairly loud vacuum cleaner, but it's really more what a typical residential one would sound like. And that would be standing directly underneath it when it's on the highest setting. If it's set to low, it will be a lot quieter (low 60 decibel range, or what a residential unit would sound like).
