Will Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar Work On 2023 Ram ProMaster 1500 With Undercarriage Spare Tire?

Question:

Hi, I am interested in the Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar RM52GR for my Ram Promaster 1500, 2023. I have the OEM undercarriage spare tire installed will this obstruct the installation of the Roadmaster? Thank you.

Hey Gerard, thanks for reaching out.

You’re good. On the 2023 Promaster 1500, the OEM underbody spare does not block the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM52GR from being installed. That sway bar mounts to the rear axle and frame rails, and it sits forward enough that the spare tire carrier typically is not in the way. Roadmaster designed that kit with the factory configuration in mind.

That said, space is a little tight back there on a Promaster, so during install you just want to make sure the bar clears the spare carrier and straps through its full range of motion. Once everything is bolted up and torqued, cycle the suspension or at least check clearances to confirm nothing contacts. But in normal installs with the factory spare still in place, it is not an obstruction and no relocation is required.

The bar installs ahead of the axle; no issue with the spare tire at all. Installation was very straightforward on my 2022 159" WB Promaster 2500. Excellent fit and performance. I highly recommend it.
