Can I Re-Use Hardware For Pull Rite 5th Wheel Rail Kit On Silverado?
Updated 03/09/2026 | Published 03/05/2026 >
Question:
Can I remove the four bolts and rails from the Pull-rite rail mounting kit to enable me to remove, then reinstall them later when they might be needed?

Hey there Don.
While you may be able to do that, it's not recommended as the hardware on the 5th wheel rail kit is supposed to be 1-time use only. When torqued down, the threads get stretched and will not be the same strength after removing and trying to install again.
I recommend grabbing another 4 bolts (5/8-11 X 3” HEX BOLT GR 5) and 4 new nuts to go with it ( 5/8”-11 SERRATED FLANGE NUT ZIN) - you should be able to source them at a local hardware store.
They don't offer a hardware kit for the PullRite Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails # PUL59RR so that's why I recommended just going to the hardware store, which shouldn't be too pricey!
What is the reason for wanting to remove the rails? Just curious.
