Is 15 GPM Enough For Fill-Rite Fuel Transfer Pump To Fuel Up Farm Tractors & Equipment?

Published 03/03/2026

Question:

Is 15 GPM fast enough for fueling tractors and UTVs and other farm equipment? I really don't know. First time looking into getting this added for our farm.

Hey there Aaron, the Fill-Rite fuel transfer pump # FR75XQ delivers 15 gallons per minute, which is well suited for fueling tanks in the 15–60 gallon range according to Fill-Rite. That should be more than enough for your equipment unless you have a semi truck with an oversized tank you plan to fill, in which case the # FR43XQ would be better since it's rated at 35gpm and 35-150 gallon tanks.

The # FR75XQ is definitely fast enough for farm tractors, UTVs, and smaller equipment without being oversized for a shop setup. It also runs on a 30-minute on / 30-minute off duty cycle which I don't see being an issue at all for you. You would need to have some really thirsty equipment to max out the 30 minute duty cycle haha.

Are you fueling one piece of equipment at a time or running multiple fills back-to-back? What all do you have on the property that would get filled by this?

We have a semi truck but we fuel up at the station in town. this would just be for gasoline vehicles on our property. I don't foresee us getting one for diesel but we may look into getting another unit for diesel only vehicles.

@Aaron Okay that makes sense, right on! Let me know what you think after getting it installed!
