Will Installation of Buyers Products Kabgard Headache Rack Prevent Installation of Toolbox

Question:
If I install this rack, does it restrict my choice of toolboxes to inside the bed types? My truck 1997 Ford F-350 Crew Cab has a 6” lift and I can’t find side steps or running boards that extend behind the cab. Toolbox access from the sides is practically impossible if the box is down on the bed rather than supported on the rails. Your suggestions regarding any parts needed to work toward a solution is appreciated.

Hey Jim! Buyers Products actually thought of this when they designed the Kabgard Headache Rack # 33785104. You can still install a toolbox like # DZ8170LB, you just need the Crossover Toolbox Adapter for Buyers Products Kabgard Headache Rack # 33785162. The toolbox can sit on top of the adapter so your options won't be limited.

Hey Jim, how did things work out with the Kabgard Headache Rack and the crossover toolbox adapter on your F-350? It’d be great to hear if that setup gave you the side access you needed. Your update could make it easier for others with similar lifted trucks.
