Hey Leo (and Jameson), You probably have your answer by now, (and I don't mean to contradict Jameson), but If we're talking about the 1/2" ID hose (part # FL57FR), which I used to install a new water pump and an expansion tank, the outside diameter is actually closer to 11/16". And I was able to use 5/8" crimp rings to clamp to the 1/2" hose barbs, (although they were a little tight, but that's all I had). So far, so good after a couple of years.
