Will Replacing Onan QG 2500 HGJBB With Onan QG 2500i GLAA Require Different Connections or Tail Pipe

Question:

2016 Artic Fox 990 truck camper, currently have an Onan RV QG 2500 LP HGJBB, would like to replace with a Onan 2500i HGLAA that you sale. Will the remote plug from inside start/stop panel plug into new unit. What changes for tailpipe?

Hey Mark! The Cummins Onan QG 2500i Onboard RV Generator w/ Inverter # CM25ZR is a direct replacement for your generator so it will use the same connections. It also uses the same 1-1/2" tailpipe. The elbow might have to be adjusted by rotating it depending on how your existing generator sits. Worst case, you will have to pick up a different elbow with a different angle locally to get it to line up with the exhaust pipe.

Any big trips planned this spring with your Artic Fox 990?

Hey Mark, how did the swap to the Onan 2500i go on your Arctic Fox 990? Did the existing remote plug and tailpipe line up the way you expected? Your update could make it easier for the next person doing the same replacement.
