Maintenance for Steele Rubber Rubber Wiper Seal

Question:
You feature a Steele Products rubber bulb seal. I have a reader that was told it is actually plastic and not to use 303 or other UV protection to condition it. What do you recommend?

Hi David; the Steele Rubber Rubber Wiper Seal with Bulb for RV Slide Out # SR38FR has an EPDM dense rubber construction. 303 Aerospace Protectant is safe to use on EPDM. Whatever you're using, make sure is is safe for this material. Silicone oils and petroleum distillates can damage EPDM so you want to avoid those.
