Question:
There is still a lot of free play going into the 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver with the adapter. How do you stop that? A Hollywood locking pin is in as tight as it can go, but there was a lot of free play in our hitch up and down side to side. Have you found that a lot of people have to use wedges with this? We have a ram 3500 and the video showed this being used on a ram hitch, but we have a lot more wiggle with everything attached. The adapter to the bike rack is fine. That works great but it’s the adapter going into the 2 1/2 inch hitch. That is a problem..

Hi Donna; that is not the typical experience with the # HRHA-2. With the set screws holding the shank in place, and then the anti-rattle hitch pin tightened down, there should be little to no movement. I would try reinstalling it just to make sure everything is properly secured. If you still have movement I would go ahead and add in an anti-rattle device like # RM-062.

Hey Donna, how did things turn out after you reinstalled the reducer sleeve and tightened the anti-rattle pin? Did adding the extra anti-rattle device help cut down the movement in your Ram’s hitch? Your update could make it easier for others dealing with the same issue.
