Question:

Merci! Gilles Robidoux, Granby, Québec, Canada J2G 5T8 Hello, I own a 2013 Toyota Corolla CE, manufactured in Canada at the end of October 2012, with a 1.8-liter ZRE-142L engine. 1. Can I install a KH11813 engine block heater on this engine? 2. I haven't been able to find the cavity where I can install this block heater... Where exactly is the cavity located on this engine for installing the KH11613? 3. I will be doing the installation myself, as climate change is already affecting us... and it's becoming urgent due to the cold weather! Thank you!

Hey Gilles, thanks for the information! The Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater item # KH11813 can indeed be installed on your 2013 Toyota Corolla CE. You'll want to find the threaded hole on the back or side of the engine block. It's usually accessed from underneath the car and will be located near the transmission or exhaust manifold. There's usually a plug or a frost plug that's removed for installation.

I ordered a heater like this for my Rav4 Hybred. When selecting my vehicle the Rav4 Hybred trim was not an option in the list. I ordered the one which was not Hybred hoping they would be the same. They were not the heater was too long so I couldn't use it. I still have it but no longer have the car. Be careful to order the exact one for your model.

I had my mechanic install this block heater. So far I’ve been very happy with its performance. Just make sure it fits your Toyota engine. Call the local dealership or check YouTube. Most of the help I found were from Canadian you tubers sharing their experience. Good luck.

Hello, I have a toyota sequoia that I installed mine on and it works good.I think it warms up the block well and it installs easily. My complant about it is that the little clip that supposed to lock it in is to round so it doesn't keep the heater in all the time. I cut off the extra little bit of the clip and shaped it into more of a hook so it catches the locking spot on the engine block better. After I did that it's never come out again.

@JerredH Excuse me, but I believe that KH11813 model is to be installed in a side cavity, left rear of the engine, in which it is a dry installation. Please note on the KH11813 that there is no seal, no 0-ring or no new frozen plug provided. Simply I think that it is a dry installation, like presented in your explaning video. Please confirm if my way of thinking is good, before I buy. Granby, Quebec, Canada J2G 5T8.
