Is There A Clamp On Style Bike Rack For My 2024 Ram Towing An Airstream?

Question:

I have a 2 1/2” hitch on my 2024 Ram Big Horn truck. I use a Blue Ox Sway Pro system to pull my 28’ Flying Cloud Airstream. Do you have a clamp-on 3 bike rack the will fit? Regards Ray Andrews

Hey Ray,

I do not see a clamp on style bike rack for 2-1/2" hitches that we carry. I tried to see if there was an adapter but came up short. I am not sure what all you carry in your truck when pulling that trailer but you could use something like a truck bed bike rack/pad. Thule has a tailgate pad, # TH824PRO, that simply drapes over your tailgate and allows you to attach bikes that way eliminating the need of a rack entirely.

It would of course take away some of your bed space but would still allow you to use majority of the bed for cargo.

Hey Ray, how did the Thule tailgate pad work out for carrying your bikes with the Ram while towing your Airstream? Your update could make it easier for others looking for a similar setup.

@NickS Hi Nick. I haven’t made the decision yet. Still looking at options. The Thule pad is a good idea unfortunately when we camp the truck bed is completely full. Airstream has an option to carry bikes on the camper but too cost prohibitive for my taste. Please let me know if you come out with a new product in the future that might work for my application. @RayA Does your airstream have a hitch on the back of it? There are RV and trailer rated bike racks out there but it all depends on your Airstreams hitch and what capacity it has. That could be an option for you.
