I have the Demco slider hitch and just bought a new F350 with a 8’ bed. Do I need a different hitch?

Hi Jon; you can use the Demco Autoslide # DM8550024 in your 2026 Ford F-350 even though you have the 8' bed. The sliding feature won't be used so it will simply act as a standard fixed 5th wheel hitch. What vehicle did you have it in before? Do you have the puck system? If it wasn't a newer Ford you will need to add the # DM6033 to fit the prep package.
Most people prefer to use a fixed 5th wheel hitch with the long bed because they're significantly lighter and easier to manage. Another option would be to use the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package # BWRVK3305. The Autoslide is pretty popular so you could probably pay for the Companion and possibly even make a little extra by selling and replacing the Autoslide.
