I went out into our warehouse and pulled a Sliding 15K Truck and Trailer Winch # E52809 to measure it and found that the bracket measures 5-1/2 inches wide by 7-1/2 inches long with a height of 4 inches.
If you add in the reel the width goes up to 8 inches.

Hello, I am interested in a picket stake winch however, onky ones i can find onky hold up to 8 feet of strap. Do3s me no good if i cant just wind up the strap when running empty. Bokt on style twist my rub rails when i bind down on them. So, i am left with fabricating my own by taking a weld on style winch and adding my own stake pocket base. My question is, can i wind up my whole 30 foot of strap when not in use ?? Thank you
