Question:
If I’m strapping down a compact tractor and a couple of attachments, should I run all flat-hooks or mix in the double-J set for the D-rings on the deck?

Steven, mixing is totally fine and sometimes ideal, but it really just comes down to what attachment points or tie-downs you have on the trailer deck. The flat-hook ratchet strap kit # e72SV gives you maximum strength and work perfectly in the stake pockets or hooked to the flat trailer rail, while the S-hook ratchet strap kit # e92NR latches easily onto smaller D-rings or welded loops on the deck.
There's no harm is mixing and matching if that's what you want to do. Just make sure your equipment weight doesn't exceed the WWL of the straps. For example, if a strap has a WWL of 1,000lbs and you use two of them, you will be good for up to 2,000lbs of equipment.
What kind of attachments are you carrying - a bucket, box blade, auger?
