Question:
I have a 2014 Sunnybrook Raven My Dometic air conditioner 541916A711C0 developed a leak. I’m in search of a direct replacement. Or at least an easy replacement. I do not have access to the inside as it is completely covered by the ceiling panels. So any work done I would like to confine to the roof. Thanks. And Merry Christmas

Hey David.
AC replacements don't come as an easy process these days. There was a recent mandate that required all new AC units to start using the R32 refrigerant. Because of that change, older components are not compatible with the newer AC's. The only AC systems I have that would prevent any sort of ceiling work would be the Velit 2000U Under-Bench AC systems. They come in a 12V part # VE56QV, 24V part # VE36QV, and a 48V part # VE96QV. These are more geared for camper vans or smaller RVs so may not be ideal for your situation.
All of our other AC units would be the standard roof top system that would need an air distribution box mounted to the ceiling. Like the Coleman-Mach Signature Mach 15 part # CM42RR (If you have a ducted system) and the Advent Air Low Profile part # ADV54QR (for non-ducted systems).
I'm sorry that I don't have an easy remedy so your leaking situation. Are the panels coving the existing distribution box? I searched the model that you have and you should have a box in the ceiling.

Dave, I used this AC to replace a Dometic AC on a 2023 travel trailer. The Advent Air unit works great. If the unit is ducted you will have to replace the wall thermostat control, the inside air distribution box, and wire the new wiring harness to the unit. If the unit is not ducted you will have to replace the ceiling controls and wire the new control to the unit. The new R32 units have different wiring harness connectors and will not connect to the old units. In either scenario you will have to have access to the inside of the trailer. The unit has to be unbolted from the inside. Not a hard change out, but the wiring takes some thought. KS

Dave’s dometic is the same as I had, only thing I had to do was change the plug on the thermostat box from the old one to the new one so I could use existing thermostat wall control. Excellent a/c the advent unit. Will be buying them from now on! Good day and Merry Christmas to all
