Troubleshooting Fuse Tap that Doesn't Allow for Circuit to Only Be On with Vehicle

Updated 12/29/2025 | Published 12/01/2025

Question:

Hello, after watching your install video on the newest generation Ford Super Duty I followed your recommendation and used a fuse tap and wired the pink wire to the snow plow fuse - my understanding was that this would prevent the compressor having power when the truck is off and accessory mode is not active. My compressor seems to still have power when the truck is off, can you advise? Also, with the fuse tap the lid on the fuse box won’t seat completely, did you guys experience this on your install?

Hey Jason, I would try a different circuit for the fuse tap. I am not totally sure what circuit you are using currently but it sounds like one that has power all the time instead of one that only has power when the key is on. Circuits marked Radio and Ignition are typically used for this application. I am not sure if we had any issues with the lid closing but maybe with the tap in a different location it would be able to seat better.

Hey Jason, did switching to a different circuit like Radio or Ignition solve the issue with your Air Lift WirelessAIR compressor staying powered? It’d be great to know if that also helped the fuse box lid fit better. Your update could make it easier for others wiring the same setup.
